It's been a while, and I haven't said hello. ...I guess I don't spend as much
time here on MT these days. How are things in Australia? Anyhow, I just now saw
your post on would you prefer to marry someone who's a virgin. How I missed that
one I don't know. Good topic. I'm loading it up as I write.
Anyhow, I hope life's good for you on that other continent. Take care!

Best of wishes to you ShadowDawn. I'll pray for you on your trip tonight.
Quote by missy1066Hello Archer, just
thought I'd let you know I managed to find that article that I was telling you
about earlier that they made of that Japanese newscaster... it took me ages to
get back to you on it because I was looking for it in the wrong magazine! Hope
you enjoy reading it and no doubt I'll catch up with you again soon so bye for
now
Thanks for the link Natty! I hope things are going well for you.
Hey thank you for the note. ...I haven't been hanging out here so much anymore.
...A couple of threads have caught my eye though.
Man, you know, it's almost feels strange for me to be saying that... ...I've
been part of a flag honor guard for a couple years of my life, etc. ...But the
truth is, that flag is representative of our country. Respect the flag if you
respect your country. ...Otherwise... It means nothing. Folks hurt other folks
all the time. Folks who burn the flag care nothing at all about the flag nor the
country. They're just trying to hurt people emotionally, like a bunch of kids
tossing insults. Burning the flag is just done to lash out at those who care
about the flag and this country. ...But we can't go outlawing every backanded
insult.
I have known some very great people who have done their part to keep this place
free. ...I know many people given up their lives for their beliefs. ...Flag
burners fight for nothing but their own childish tempers. Yet so many times, the
people that flag represnts have given up so much so that mal-tempered people can
burn the flag.
Flag burning becomes a grotesque salute to the freedoms gained and the prices it
has cost. ...And an unfortunate testimony to the misuse of those
freedoms.
I appreciate the comments. Take care, and congradulations on your graduation.
(Seen above.)
I can prove that at least I (that is me ^^) exist. Using the same method as
Descartes, you can doubt about math, about every science and fact in this world,
you can even doubt that you are doubting, but what you can never doubt about is
that by doubting, you are doing something, you can never doubt you doubt, and if
you do, you are doubting....therefore....proving that YOU at least, doubt, and
that cannot be denied...even if you doubt again....
And so you doubt, and so you think, and so you exist.....your body may not
exist, it may be an illusion, some evil genie trying to fool you, but your doubt
does exist, and so somewhere....you are you, and you exist, probably not
physically, probably physically we are everything but real, but we doubt (well,
the ones that doubt...)
Problem with this is that you cannot prove the others exist, you cannot prove I
exist, I can't do the same with you...
But...really u.u this "proof" of existance really puts you out of the
frame, out of the world, if you can't prove nobody else exists...why continue
doing what you do?
Descartes used God to solve this problem....I clearly do not, but he stated
that:
a. God is good and loves you
b. God will never fool you
c. Therefore u.u what you see is what you get, everything is real since the
creator doesn't want to fool you
=/ Ahm...there are clearly some problems with this logic...but um....whatever
At any rate u.u what is the point in believing we do not exist? The world would
be chaos if nobody cared about each other....we might not exist, but you gotta
accept this reality....however real it may be, is something you experience, is
something that is there and that cannot be undone....care for others ^^ we do
exist, in some way....you may not be able to prove it, but I am here, writing
this =p
So....um...whatever....lost the point for a sec there.....I know I exist
=p.

replies in ways of incredible intimacy. ...Mericles may not be apparent to all,
but when He moves in grace, His provisions touch you very deep. The four answers
you proposed only scratch the surface of what's really
involved.
Wanted to let you know that I thought this was a great post. RubyDrgOn is so fun
to debate with and I enjoyed your answer.
LOL Just thought I'd put it down. ...Very little compares to experiencing God.
...So... Hopefull all of those with dessenting views will someday find
themselves surprised!
Happy Valentines Day Missy, I hope it's a good one!

Quote by Sallyf322Thanks for posting on
my thread about household guns ^-^ So you're a Texan supporting guns? Not
surprising. I got a post a while back in which the Texan poster told of a
happening way back. Something about a guy who killed several people while
robbing a restaurant and a woman had a gun...only it was in her car because arms
weren't allowed in establishments. After that, Texans were given the right to to
be armed. I've NO idea if that's true or not, but the idea scares me to be
walking around and knowing everyone's armed
Either way, I support guns...in households. Thanks for your input!
^-^
Personally, I don't think there's anything to be feared by everyone being armed.
...It's a fair deterrent. ...Plus it's better to confront something that you are
intimidated by (the knowledge of guns), rather then to fear and abhor something
you do not know. ...I am a Coloradan, currently living in Texas. ...As far as I
know a concealed carry permit is required here, just as in other states, and I
know for sure I'm not allowed to carry at work.
Quote by RingbellWell, if someone is
stupid enough not to see with their own eyes that the world is changing for the
worse, you might need those videos.
The change is natural, we are only speeding it up.
Did you actually even download the videos? Modern-day observations pertaining to
climate change were discussed significantly in these videos. I think it is very
important for you to see these, so you can have a more balanced background to
draw from.

No, I'm using a 56k modem.
There is no need for me to see them, change is inevitable, there is nothing we
can do to stop it, only slow it down. Pollution is high I know, insanely high,
but that doesn't change the fact that the world has changed like this before,
and will keep doing it.
Those videos are surely biased, and show what they want to see from their point
of view. It is easy to argument for any cause, just as this one. I'm not saying
less pollution isn't needed, I just don't like the whole biased thing.
I watched a program where they had dug out ice from deep withing a glaicer on
Greenland. That ice showed what I am saying, that the world has gone through
quite a few drastic changes in the climate, just as we are experiencing now.
Therefor, in my eyes this is all natural, just worsened by us
humans.
Unfortunately, since most information requires money and time to broadcast, it
will most likely be presented from people trying to support their ideas.
...Inherently, much valuable information will be presented with a significant
bias. ...And this is too. The videos provided help counter pro-global-warming
propaganda, by trying to reveal the truth. It has been my observation that I
hear many pro-global-warming arguments. These videos present part of the
opposing viewpoints. IMHO, anyone who wants to come to a conclusion on their
stance on environmental policy should study both sides of the issue.
Hey there Missy. I figured I would stop by and say hello. LOL it took me a while
to find your page. ...Seems MT3 is a little... ...Cranky so far, LOL. I hope you
have a good week.
Quote by ShadowdawnThanks for the
words of encouragment!! You
know, it's kind of weird,
despite the differences we had at the begining, i think we might even
be kind of friends now. Well by by for now!!
(After all, we are both
mature adults.........)
LOL I never had a problem with you, just the threads. I understand you might
have seen it differently. And I suppose that we are indeed friends.
Quote by ShadowdawnThank you for
understanding what a pain in the ass study can be. And i
always wanted to be a professor of ancient studies, but the schooling
was just a little too much for me to handle, so this is my fall back
job..........i always hope that maby one day i can go back and try
re-taking the course....it makes me so sad when i remember that i
couldn't be my dream job.........=(
I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer. I ended up as a mining engineer.
...It turns out that people need mining engineers more, and it's a much more
broad/customizable field of study (often overlooked.) ...It's grown on me too.
I hope your new field will get you hooked also. ...And that you bring your own
custom/personal ambitions to help you succeed as a unique contributor to the
field.

200!
Just browsing, and thought I would say hello. Congrats. ...Not a suprise
though.
Quote by ShadowdawnHey, good to hear
from you as well! Wow you're an engineer, i always
wanted to experiment with that, but alas, i whent into forensic science
instead. by the way, thank you for saying that my thread was good!
(If you ever want to talk about forensic science, you'll have to wait a
while because, i'v just started my first year in universty this
September)k by 4 now
That sounds like a sweet field. ...I hope it goes well for you. Do you also
have a 'dream job' you're working towards then? ...Good luck with your studies.
I know it can be rough, even if it's your favorite thing in the whole world.
Quote by ShadowdawnThank u for the
revival of one of my old threads. Have a nice day=)
LOL Not quite a revival, but I was happy to post on a good thread. ...Sorry, I
meant to reply to you last time, but I just never got it done.
i kind of enjoy those things too.. ...I'm an engineer by trade, so looking at
how things work, and science/philosophy kind of run into that field as well.
...That and the real world too.
Anyhow, hello, and it's good to hear from you.
ProgramZERO, the "Ask an Athiest" thread has little substance as far
as I am concerned. You are unprepared to do anything but quarrel/flame about
whether a God exists or not. ...And there are plenty of threads on that
already.

I have no desire to participate in a 'flamefest'. ...The topic up to

from this thread until something of actual value is presented
here.
